Science

“There is no description, no image in any book that is capable of replacing the sight of real trees, and all the life to be found around them, in a real forest. Something emanates from those trees which speaks to the soul, something no book, no museum is capable of giving.” Maria Montessori

We give children as many real, hands-on experiences as possible before introducing abstract concepts like naming and classification. With a concrete experience “in hand,” Montessori children are inspired to learn everything about everything! Observing classroom plants and animals is a natural way to explore the world. Buoyancy is just the beginning to many more hands-on physical science presentations. With our precise presentations, access to materials, and opportunities for follow-up research, the children will begin to comprehend the laws of physics and even the nature of the universe.
